International Thai Study Tour Programs  

     
    Two routes of Thai Study tour programs have been arranged during January 12-13, 2008 to provide
    participants with knowledge and a unique experience of peripheral communities through cultural tours. The
    programs will take you to the communities of ethnic groups living in the existing ecological system and natural
    environments, consisting of ricefields, forests, mountains, and coastal areas.
     
   
                                 Route 1: Suphan Buri (two days), a tour of Suphan Buri and local study
   

                                 Route 2: Kanchanaburi (two days), a tour of Mueang Dan,

                                                                    where the “Dead Railway” passes by, and visitors will have
                                                                    a unique experience of the Mon-Karen ethnic group lifestyle.

Book of Abstracts 
 

The paper should be in English, 1,500-2,000 words in length, exclusive of tables, figures, appendices, and references. The editorial board will take the liberty of correcting some typographical errors and shortening the abstracts which are longer than 250 words in order to fit in with the A5-size page.

 
Instruction for Paper Submission  
 
Authors should submit an electronic copy of their paper as e-mail attachment to thaiconference@gmail.com by November 30, 2007. Please specify 'full paper' as subject of your email letter to distinguish it from letters of enquiry and others. For those who participate in the organized panel, please also send a copy of your paper to the organizer/chair/discussant of your panel. All papers will be recorded in CD proceedings and distributed at the conference.

The paper should be in English, 1,500-2,000 words in length, not included tables, figures, illustrations, appendices and references. The text should be in Courier, font 11 point, single-spaced, with a one-inch margin from the top, bottom, left and right. A running head on every page must include the author's full name at the center, with his or her affiliation on the top right-hand corner of the page. Page numbers must be placed at the center at the bottom of every page. Save the paper in Rich Text Format. Organize the paper as follows:  
 
  • Title Page with Title, Author's name(s), Title(s), Address(es), Affiliation(s) and e-mail address(es)
  • Narrative with Tables and Figures locations signified by the boldface words centered on the page saying, "Table XX Here" where Table XX is the table or figure title.

  • Figures
  • Endnotes in Harvard Reference system
  • Appendices
  • References
Instruction for Paper Presentation 
 
Working languages: English

Time allotment: The allotted time for each panel is one hour and fifty minutes, including paper presentation, and questions & answers. Each speaker will have 15-20 minutes for presentation, depending on the number of papers in each panel. Please directly contact your chair for detail information.

Equipment: The conference room will be equipped with one computer and one LCD projector. If you wish to present pictures please transform them into POWERPOINT.

Late paper: Papers that are received before or on December 31, 2007 will be forwarded to the chair and recorded in the CD proceedings. Those who cannot submit their papers by December 31, 2007 are requested to send an additional copy via email to the chair at the address shown in the conference program. Any uncompleted papers should be brought to the conference on CD and given to the staff when you come to collect your document and name badge on January 8-9, 2008.

Biography: For proper introduction, please send your short biography to the chair of your panel. Other enquiry about the presentation can also be directed to the chair.
 
Provided Food
   
Q: What kind of food provided for participants during the conference?
   
A: With our best concern to multinational diet, we implement the Halal standard to our provided food. However, if you need vegetarian diet or if you are seriously allergic to some sort of food, please inform us by e-mail thaiconference.event@gmail.com before 30 November 2007.
